1580_78, 79 and 107 Donald Wright will translation 1581 – Michael

In the name of God amen I Donald Wright [sound]  
in bodie wholle mynde and of perfect memorie God 
be praysed committing my soul to God & my 
body to be buried within the chancel of Kirk 
Michael. Item I do ordaine & constitute & appoint
in my Last will & testament in manner & form 
as followeth. First I will ordaine & constitute 
Jayne & Elizabeth Wright my daughters my 
most Lawfull executrices of all my goods 
Item I leave unto the foresaid Elyzabeth £6 
13s 4d. Item unto the foresaid Jayne Wright 
my daughter I leave & bequeath my whole [demesne?] 
with the crope of corne and halfe the teame 
of oxen all my clousses meadowes or parcels 
of ground being now in my occupation with 
[‘all other commodities & ----- in any wise belonginge 
or appertaining unto --’ has been crossed out] Item I leave 
unto my foresaid daughter Jayne & my wife 
the fishing boat to maintaine the house. 
Item I leave unto my base begotten daughter 
Ellyn £6 13s 4d & more towards her marriage 
40s or else a dinner. unto William Christian 
forty shillings and 4 bolls wheat. Item to 
my mother eight bolls barley. Item to my 
sister Ellyn half of the chamber in Douglas 
Item to my sister Katherin her children 12 
Lambs amongst them. Item I leave unto 
Thomas Sansburie Deemster one doublett 
cloth of black bombasie with sylke for the 
same. Item to John Quall my father in lawe 
10s. Item to James Quall one old mare with 
my best doublett & best breeches. Item to William 
Wryght half a cow, Item to William Harbin  
one heiffer two yeares old, 1 sheep one 
Lambe. Item to Sir Donald Vicar one boll 
wheatt & five shillings 4d in money, 
Item to Thomas Woddes the elder 5s to 
Thomas Woddes the younger the choice of two 
bowes. Item to William Cordeige 2 sheep
two Lambs, Item I leave to Isabell my 
daughter half the milne that he hath in 
occupation with the smith. Item to John 
Quall’s children 2 sheep & 2 Lambs. Item

Thatt Donald Wright dyd leave unto .... 
sonne of Thomas Woods 40s for every 
yeare for the space of four yeares out of

40s in consyderation of a dinner out of 
sumpters shype[?] Item unto William Kelly

with ye foure honest neybors [neighbours] thatt knowe the goods of 
Donald Wright deceased & that is putt in Inventorye  
all the whole goods & let it remayne in the custody  
of the wife of Donald Wright untill the executors 
have agreed & the will be proved & let ye goods be 
putt under arrest that none be purloyned .. putt ... 
but that it maye be forthcominge w.. forth..... 
order therein is to be taken a fore sundaye nextt so
